Ye Ji Won (예지원), Lead Actor
An acclaimed South Korean actor, Ji Won has starred in the works of many renowned directors, most notably Hong Sang-soo. Some of their collaborations include The Turning Gate (2002), Ha Ha Ha (2010), Nobody’s Daughter Haewon (2012), and Our Sunhi (2013). She has also worked as a producer on Im Kwon-taek’s historic 101st film Hanji (2011) in addition to playing a starring role in the same film. Being a household name in South Korea, she is famous for her eccentric personality on both the stage and screen. From starring in a critically acclaimed theatre adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s Resurrection to hosting Saturday Night Live Korea, Ye Ji Won is widely recognized for her extensive acting range. In addition to arthouse cinema, she has starred in much commercial work such as the popular Korean sitcom, Old Miss Diary. She won Best Actress in the Busan Film Critics Awards (2007) for starring in the film version of the same name as well as Best Supporting Actress in the Chunsa Film Art Awards (2002) for her role in Turning Gate.
연기파 배우로 유명한 예지원은 한국의 저명한 감독, 특히 홍상수 감독의 작품에 다수 출연했다. 그와 함께한 작품으로는 <생활의 발견(2002)>, <하하하(2010)>, <누구의 딸도 아닌 해원(2012)>, <우리 선희(2013)> 등이 있다. 또한 임권택 감독의 101번째 영화 <달빛 길어올리기(2011)>의 프로듀서로도 활동했으며 같은 작품에서 주연을 맡았다. 한국에서 개성 있는 연예인으로 유명한 그녀는 예술 영화 뿐만 아니라 인기 시트콤인 <올드 미스 다이어리> 등 많은 상업 작품에 출연하며 분야를 가리지 않는 광범위한 연기를 선보인다. 2007년 <올드 미스 다이어리> 영화 버전으로 부산영화평론가협회상에서 여우주연상을 수상했으며, 영화 <생활의 발견>으로 2002년 춘사영화제에서 여우조연상을 수상한 바 있다.
